During The Procedure

Duration: around 20 minutes
The duplex venous ultrasonography procedure is best performed by a specialist vascular surgeon or phlebologist. There is no special preparation for it and it is painless. The patient is either in the standing position or lying comfortably on a steeply inclined examining table.
Upon completing your duplex venous ultrasonography, your vascular surgeon will have determined:

Whether the valves in your veins are functioning properly or not in each of your leg veins
The size of your veins
Whether there is obstruction in your veins or not
A roadmap of your leg veins is then constructed through duplex venous ultrasonography and your treatment is planned accordingly.
