HYSTEROSCOPY
Hysteroscopy Procedure and Treatment in Jumeirah, Dubai
Hysteroscopy is a procedure in which a small, telescope-like instrument is inserted directly into the uterine cavity. The scope allows the surgeon to visualize the uterine cavity and to diagnose conditions such as uterine septum — protrusion of the upper wall of the uterus into the cavity — scar tissue, uterine polyps, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids. Depending upon the severity of the condition, the hysteroscopy surgery procedure can be performed either in our offices or in the operating room. Hysteroscopy procedure allows diagnosis and, most often, resolution of the anatomical problem. This is an outpatient surgery, and it does not require an overnight stay.
It is done along a dilatation and curettage (D and C) to get some tissues outside the uterus. Hysteroscopy treatment helps diagnose certain conditions such as heavy bleeding or clear the uterus after a miscarriage or an abortion. After an abortion or miscarriage, products of conception are often left in the uterus thus increasing bleeding. To stop the bleeding hysteroscopy is done to stop the bleeding. Instruments are used to open up the cervix using a dilator, then a curette to get some uterine tissue.
Hysteroscopy involves the insertion of a camera and alights from the vagina to the cervix then the uterus. It helps the doctor to view the uterus problems such as fibroids and polyps. A clear view of the uterus and its physical current state is observed and documented.
